Pudgy Penguins Sales Spike After Toy Lineup Announcement

Pudgy Penguins reveals plans to launch the Pudgy Toys Lineup and sees an uptrend in its floor prices and daily traded volume.

The Pudgy Penguins Lineup will feature select NFTs released as toys, licensed directly from the community. The tweet from Pudgy Penguins claims that the IRL toy lineup is one of the upcoming instances where the Pudgy Penguins will allow Web2 to be a part of Web3 services. Moreover, the lineup will expand to include other NFTs in the future.

As a result, the sales of the Pudgy Penguins NFTs saw a considerable spike, and the collection acquired the eighth position on OpenSea’s daily top NFTs ranking, surpassing the likes of Azuki, Goblintown, BAKC, and Doodles. However, Pudgy Penguins could not overtake Moonbirds in the daily ranking, despite the latter witnessing a plunge in sales after switching to a CC0 contract

Data from OpenSea reveals over 263 ETH worth of sales in the last 24 hours, with a 118% increase in 24hr volume. Moreover, the floor price of the collection has also increased significantly, with the cheapest NFT priced at 2.6761 ETH. In the last 24 hours, the floor price surged by 10.52%, making it the collection’s highest since May.

The Pudgy Penguins community has seen its fair share of turmoil since the beginning of 2022 when the community ousted its founders in January when they failed to deliver on their promises. Subsequently, the NFT collection was sold to LA-based entrepreneur Luca Netz for 750 ETH in April, with its sales dropping since May due to the onset of the crypto winter.
