An NFT series based on Stan Lee's Indian superhero Chakra was sold out in a matter of minutes. The first drop, on December 27, had 6,865 unique generative artworks based on characters that sold out in 51 seconds, and the second drop, on December 28, offered 5,400 NFT comics that sold out in 49 seconds, making them two of the fastest NFT drop sellouts in history.
The popularity of these NFTs can be gauged from the fact that the hashtag #StanLeeNFT trended at number three on Twitter India, on the occasion of Stan Lee's 99th birthday
When it comes to the Chakraverse NFT collection, they are based on legendary comic book writer Stan Lee's Indian superhero "Chakra The Invincible” and these NFTs have aroused international interest, with bidders originating from 14 different nations.
The auction was arranged by Orange Comet, one of the world's leading non-traditional entertainment studios, in collaboration with BeyondLife.club powered by GuardianLink.io, Stan Lee's POW! Entertainment, and Graphic India.
"This is a momentous occasion for us. The auctions for our first global NFT drop, which was inspired by Indian culture, were a great success. We are overjoyed to see such a good response to our one-of-a-kind global NFT, and its success demonstrates Stan Lee's steadfast fan base in India and around the world "Kameshwaran Elangovan, co-founder and COO of GuardianLink, commented.
Stan Lee acknowledged in 2012 that he has long been drawn to Indian culture. Stan Lee, when asked about developing an Indian superhero, said:
"It's very intelligent, with a strong sense of morals and tradition. I've written a lot of superheroes from various walks of life and from all over the world, and I've even made up characters from other worlds and universes, but Chakra is unique. The Invincible is the first superhero I've designed just for the Indian market. My goal with Chakra is simple: I want to exploit the superhero genre in the West to spread an Eastern concept like chakras over the world."
Lee is the co-creator and writer of some of the most well-known superheroes in the world, including Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Hulk, and The Avengers. He is widely regarded as one of the most important twentieth-century and twenty-first-century creators of popular, mass-consumed art. His characters have gathered approximately $32 billion in global movie office receipts and have aided in the creation of some of history's most enduring narratives.
In the eyes of market observers, the drop is the most successful US-India NFT transaction ever.
