Yuga Labs’ Bored Apes Yacht Club NFT collection exceeds over $2.4B in trading volume.

All-Time Sales Doubled Within Seven Months

The Bored Apes series hit the $1B all-time sales threshold at the beginning of 2022. Now, the collection has doubled its sales volume within seven months.

Since the onset of crypto winter, the NFT market has suffered considerably, with the BAYC collection hitting its lowest floor prices in eight months. Furthermore, over 600 NFTs, including some BAYC and MAYC NFTs, were on the verge of getting liquidated on BendDAO’s platform due to a rapid decline in the NFT prices caused by bearish market trends.

Fortunately, Yuga Labs’ flagship collection was able to surpass 650 ETH in trading volume despite a steady decline in sales over the past months, with the volume traded in August 2022 stagnating around the $53M mark, down by $7M since July 2022.

BAYC Surpasses CryptoPunks In Sales Rankings

The BAYC collection finally beat CryptoPunks in the all-time sales ranking after lagging behind the latter for several months. This sudden change in sales volume rankings can largely be attributed to CryptoPunks’ significant reduction of monthly sales, which caused the collection’s sales volume to hover at $2.36B, almost $30M less than BAYC’s sales record.

As of writing this article, BAYC ranks second in all-time sales volume, surpassing the likes of CryptoPunks, Otherdeeds, Azuki, and Moonbirds

However, despite its impressive sales volume, BAYC has yet to surpass Axie Infinity’s record of generating over $4.08B in all-time sales.
