Available on the ApeCoin forums, the AIP-70 proposal involves allocating a part of the BAYC ecosystem’s funds to enhance and upgrade Bored Ape Gazette into a sustainable business model within a year. To that end, the proposal claims a requirement of at least $10000 per month for new coverage and an additional cost to revamp the website.
Bored Ape Gazette will feature a live ticker for the BAYC, MAYC, BAKC, and Otherdeed collections, along with an ApeCoin price chart. It will also have an Ape Calendar with Yuga Labs’ upcoming events, ballots, and meetups. Lastly, it will also feature a classified section where members could sell their Yuga Labs NFTs in ApeCoin.
The proposal states that the expected budget to update the website would be $150,000 for the first year.
The proposal claims that once Ape DAO approves the grant, Bored Ape Gazette will begin posting 1-2 stories related to BAYC, with plans to increase the number to 3-5 articles.
There will also be a weekly writers' meetup where community members can pitch new ideas and get involved with the papers. The website will also release a bi-weekly newsletter on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.
